B. SizeReqBuf

SizeReqBuf stands for how large raw receive buffers are in a server environment. What this means is that your capacity to host anything within an elevated- latency environment will be affected. Assuming a game server is hosted by you and several individuals complain about lag. This can be optimized to increase network speed. The effect of lag can be decreased by modifying this value. Usually, this buffer is put at 16384 by your system. This will serve the purpose, for most servers, however at times your memory may be small and you may not be able to cope with the high volume of demand.

If your server has physical memory that is above 512 MB, the value should be changed to 17424. if the memory of your PC is below 512 MB, you are better off getting another computer, however for now this value can be  modified to 4356.

C. DefaultTTL

TTL stands for Time to Live and it lets routers know the length of time a packet should remain in the air as it is trying to deliver before it can stop and throw the packet away. You computer will spend more time as it waits for a delivery from a failed packet. This has the effect of reducing the level of productivity within your network.

When no value is fixed, Windows will wait for 128s for the conclusion of the transaction. This will cause your PC to lag awfully if your computer was busy trying to complete a task and something goes wrong with your connection to a server.

Include “DefaultTTL” as DWORD value in the “Parameters” key. The value should be set at something between 1 & 255. 64 is actually the best value, but if you would like the packet to be  killed faster, you can fix lower values.
